Epilepsy - a common non communicable disease with a prevelance of 4 - 7 per 1000 in India.
In an endeavor to help patients with epilepsy, the foundation is running free epilepsy camp at village Ratan Nagar in District Churu since last 16 years every month on a pre decided date presently on every first Tuesday of the month at venue of CHC Ratan Nagar. Free Epilepsy camp has been attended by thousands of patients and about 550 patients from all parts of Rajasthan and adjoining states attend the camp where all the patients are seen by Neurologist, investigated and treated regularly. All the patients are given free medicines for full one month every time so that the compliance of patient is improved and very good results have been obtained by this experiment. Besides this all patients are also given health education regarding superstition, mis beliefs and recent developments as regards control of epilepsy. Education is given in form of literature, video demonstration and exhibitions which are regularly done in the camp on each visit. This camp is run under guidance of Dr. R.K.Sureka, Neurophysican of SMS Medical College, Jaipur who is also a state award winner for work in Rural Epilepsy.
